Shades in pyrography refer to the varying degrees of darkness or lightness achieved by controlling the intensity of the heat applied to the wood surface. By adjusting the temperature of the pyrography tool and the length of time it is in contact with the wood, artists can create different shades to add depth and dimension to their artwork. Shades play a crucial role in creating realistic and detailed images in pyrography, allowing artists to achieve a wide range of tones and textures in their work. **

To draw shades, you can start by identifying the light source in your drawing. Then, determine where the shadows would fall based on the direction of the light. Use a darker shade of the color you are using to create the shadows, gradually building up the intensity to create a realistic effect. Pay attention to the shape and form of the object you are shading to ensure the shadows are accurately represented. Practice and experimentation will help you improve your shading technique over time. **
